Longest zinc kettle replaced

December 2007 – During the construction industry holidays, Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard exchanged the zinc kettle for the seventh time in its history. It felt like we had only recently taken this kettle into use, but in fact it really had been seven years ago. The saying 'time flies when you're having fun' really applies here.

December 2007 – After 3 months of preparations, it was finally D-day. On 2 January 2008, Verzinkerij IJsselmuiden and Spruyt Coatings Hoogeveen officially became part of ROTO. The two companies are now operating under the names Verzinkerij Kampen and Poedercoating Hoogeveen.

New look vehicle fleet

November 2007 – Recently the logos of Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard and Poedercoating Heerhugowaard have been modernised. The new logos clearly show a unity of appearance, underlining the close cooperation. Of course the vehicle fleet had to show this new appearance as well. For that reason all vehicles now display the new logos of both Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard and Poedercoating Heerhugowaard.

Upgrading hoisting capacity Verzinkerij

May 2007 – Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard purchased a new gantry crane. This new gantry crane on the outdoor site has a span of 32 metres and it can move on 46 metres of rails.  With the purchase of these new gantry crane, Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard increased its loading and unloading range by 1,500 m2.

Boarding tunnel Amsterdam galvanised

May 2007 – Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA) is a junction between land and water. The terminal provides a warm welcome to ocean and river cruise ships. The passengers, some 125,000 a year, go on shore here through the Concourse footbridge. For this footbridge, Arco Roosters supplied 400 perfo treads and 80 made-to-measure fencing gratings. Just like the steel structure of 210 tons, they were hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard.

Steel construction award 2006

May 2007 – Since 1999, Beemsterpolder has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list. For that reason a contest was organised in 2001 for the new building for the whey processing installation of Cono cheesemakers in Westbeemster for a design that could befit “the beauty and the characteristics of Beemsterpolder”. The new building received the Steel Construction Award in 2006. The steel structure of 375 tons was galvanised by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard.

IJburg bridges galvanised

May 2007 – East of Amsterdam, on lake IJsselmeer, the new development IJburg is emerging. Living at IJburg means living on the beach, on an avenue or canal, behind sturdy banks, on a jetty and in an urban area. Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard galvanised various parts for five IJburg bridges.

Art galvanised

May 2007 – Specifically for the Botanic Garden TU Delft, artist Karin Dekker of Amsterdam designed a three-dimensional object, inspired by the 15th century story of Poliphilo's Strife of Love.
